Precious Portraits for a Newborn Baby Girl

I first met this family a few years ago when Mom and Dad welcomed their first child, their daughter McKenna. The excited parents-to-be live about two hours away from my studio, but it was important to them to find a photographer whose work was a fit for their family’s personality and aesthetics. I’m so glad that they found my studio because it was such a joy to work with them, and I’m thrilled that I’ve now had the opportunity to work with them a second time for baby Samantha!

We incorporated a lot of blue tones into Samantha’s newborn photos like we did for McKenna’s newborn portraits because Mom and Dad love this color palette. But of course, a little girl’s photo gallery wouldn’t be complete without some gorgeous and delicate pinks, so we put together plenty of soft, feminine tones too.

As little as she was, baby Samantha was incredibly alert and expressive. It was so fun to capture some photos of her beautiful eyes, but she was also gracious enough to take a nap and let us create plenty of adorably sleepy photos too. In all of Samantha’s portraits, though, I couldn’t take my eyes away from all her cute hair, which reminded me so much of big sister McKenna when she was a baby too.

Sweet Sibling Photos

Any time a new baby comes into a family with other siblings, one of the top priorities for their newborn photo session is to create portraits with the siblings together. While McKenna is still young, she was a little trooper and I’m thrilled with the sweet sibling photos we captured.
