Single Mom Newborn Photoshoot

There’s a story behind every new baby that comes into the world, and I always love hearing my clients’ stories. Most of the time, it’s a classic love story: two people meet, fall in love, and eventually welcome a baby into their adoring family. I don’t find myself at a single mom newborn photoshoot as often, so I was incredibly touched to hear Liam’s mom’s story and how she welcomed her baby boy.

Mom deeply wanted to be a mother, as so many women do. She hadn’t found her perfect match yet, but rather than settling in a relationship that didn’t fit, she chose to move forward and make her dream a reality in her own way. She was thrilled to find a donor and over the moon to give birth to her beautiful little Liam. I could tell how much she truly treasures her baby boy in their meaningful interactions.

Because Mom’s pregnancy was such a special journey, she wanted to capture maternity portraits as well as newborn photos. She had such a clear vision for her maternity photos – stunning nudes in a fine art style – and she interviewed me to make sure I could bring her vision to life.

It was so much fun to work with her, but it was even better when Liam’s newborn session arrived so I could reconnect with her and meet baby Liam too.

Red Hair Mom and Baby Boy

With that gorgeous red hair, Mom and baby boy are both such beauties! Mom was excited to get nude portraits of Liam to pair well with her maternity photos. That turned out to be difficult because Liam was a bit uncomfortable during his session thanks to a tongue tie, but we managed to get one fantastic nude along with plenty of adorable wrapped photos. I especially love how his “under the sea” portrait turned out!
